It's strange to see some people having such a big negative reaction to Jack's character in this because it wasn't meant to be that way. Yes, he was meant to be a little selfish and arrogant but he wasn't really meant to be seen as a bad guy as such. But, as I think I mentioned before, there is a reason he is like this. I'm just the only one who knows the end game at this stage :)
