I thought Rufus' bacjground might be a nice touch in getting Jack a friend inside.

Jack had a not so happy life growing up which I will eventually get to. He gets from Rufus' family what he never got from his own and unfortunately he can't get everything from Ennis.

On it's way to being fixed but the journey is sometimes fraught with hardship along the way.
