Summary: Ianto is a powerful magical warrior, one which Jack Harkness has never been able to resist. Once enemies, then almost lovers, he broke his heart. Years later, Jack must return to his hometown and seek help before it is too late. Jack and Ianto must now put aside their past and work together to defeat an evil threatening to overwhelm and take control of Jack because of his unique bloodline. Secrets and foretold prophecies will plague them and in this paranormal battle, they will need more than magic to survive.
A/N: Sorry for the delay in posting but it’s been a huge weekend of work and I was totally exhausted, but I have finally had enough downtime and ready to go again. In this chapter, Donna explains and the boys take a wander...
“What?” Jack asked again.
“Aunt Donna, what the hell do you mean?” Ianto demanded.
“Oi, you just calm down, too, boy, and I’ll explain,” Donna said. “We come from a long line of magical beings, and our affinity with the Sidhe, who are magical in their own right, gives us an extended life force. For some of us,” she looked at Ianto pointedly, “we do not die of natural causes. If our bodies fail we will appear to die but our energy and soul will reform into a new body. This is my seventh body.”
“Why did I never know this?” Ianto asked, clearly shocked, and a little hurt that his aunt would keep something like this from him.
“All that has come to pass had to run its course, my darling. You both had a journey you needed to complete. And now that it is, you’re lives will be forever entwined as they have been foretold. My fate will also be yours, Ianto.” Ianto gasped at Donna’s words.
Jack stared at Donna trying to fathom what she was saying. “Are you saying Ianto is going to live forever?”
“Ianto has a destiny and it’s to fight by the side of another warrior for many years to come. Ianto will need as much life-force as he can to look after you, Sunshine.” Donna stared hard at Jack before concentrating on Ianto. “The magic you performed on Jack has tied you together more than anything else could. This was the true prophecy told at your birth and it was up to me to steer you on the right path so neither of you buggered the whole bloody thing up—which you nearly did. When I met Jack, I knew he was the one foretold in the prophecy but you needed to work for it to come true.”
Both Jack and Ianto were shell-shocked. Jack opened his mouth and then closed it again remaining silent along with Ianto while this news began to really sink in. He opened his mouth again and this time words came out. “So, I’m going to live forever, too? Are you saying we’re immortal?”
“Basically,” she replied. “Unless you are killed by some unnatural force. Or maybe a bus.” The last bit was more of a joke as Donna chortled. “You’re both going to live very long lives.”
“See?” Ianto whispered, as he pressed a quick kiss to the top of his head. “I told you there was nothing to worry about.”
“You’re taking this very well, Ianto,” Jack said, turning to look at him.
“I don’t know, all of sudden it just feels like I’ve always known. I can’t explain it, but just now a feeling came over me and it just feels right.” Ianto stared into Jack’s eyes and he felt as if he could actually see forever in them. “Besides, we knew it was never going to be simple with us. Our promise for forever has a whole new meaning now.” Ianto smiled and leaned in to kiss Jack.
The kiss was soft and gentle but held promise and more than words could say at this moment. They held the moment until Donna’s words brought them out of their spell.
“It is done,” Donna said and held her hands up closing her eyes. “Your promise has been accepted.”
“Done? Accepted?” Jack asked.
“Our promise to each other. The elements have accepted it and will protect us for as long as we need it,” Ianto answered, knowing exactly what Donna meant. He smiled and kissed Jack again.
A loud ‘Oi!’ startled them out of the kiss and they broke apart. “Save it for your honeymoon.”

They made their way to the front door, with Donna and Brandon walking behind them, and Ianto caught his brother’s gaze before following Jack outside. “Are you planning on staying in touch?”
His mouth twitched with something that could have almost passed for a smile. “I have to be here for the wedding, don’t I?”
“You will if you know what’s good for you,” he warned with a husky laugh, and then his expression turned serious. “I hope you’ll come around more, Bran. I miss knowing my brother.”
He shoved a hand through his wavy hair and winced. “I’m sorry about that, Ianto. I just… Things have been pretty crazy for me lately. But I, uh, promise I’ll be better about making time to see you.”
“I’ll hold you to that.” Ianto started to turn away, ready to join Jack outside, but Brandon reached out and grabbed his arm. Ianto took in his strained expression, and waited for him to say what was on his mind.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here to help you with Rhiannon. And I’m sorry I interfered between you and Jack all those years ago,” he forced out in a low rasp. “I should’ve kept my nose out of it, but I was…I was just worried about you.”
“I know,” Ianto told him, pressing his hand over his. “I don’t blame you, Bran. It wasn’t your fault.”
Relief filled his brother’s gaze. “You forgive me?”
“Only if you promise to spend Christmas with us,” he told him, thinking how wonderful it would be to have a traditional family holiday, complete with turkey and a tree and all the people he loved.
Brandon looked uncertain, but…touched. “You serious?”
His response was swift. “As a heartbeat.”
Brandon’s tension eased, and his mouth finally curved with a warm smile. “Then I’ll be there.”

Instead of heading back to the SUV, Jack asked Ianto if he’d mind walking for a while through the woods with him. There were plenty of paths for them to follow, and he wanted to give him a little time to relax before they drove into town and spent the day at various meetings, making plans for the wedding.
For his own part, he was angry with Donna for what she’d done, meddling in their lives in such a way that it had cost them twelve years—but he was also relieved by the things those little voices had told him about the effects of the Master’s bite. He hoped Ianto understood how much it meant to him that he’d given him his love when they still didn’t know what the future held. He would never forget that trust on his part. And he sure as hell would never betray it.
As he watched him from the corner of his eye, Jack wondered if he had any idea how devoted he was to him. With a smile, he realised he had a lifetime to show him, and he looked forward to every moment of it.
“It’s beautiful here,” he rumbled, enjoying the fresh air and the dappled warmth of sunlight as it floated through the trees. But he could sense Ianto’s tension. “Just take a deep breath and try to relax, Ianto.”
“I know. I’m sorry. But I’m so mad I could strangle her,” he growled, taking his aggression out on an unsuspecting tree as he kicked its wide trunk with his boot.
Jack’s grin was wry. “Uh, yeah, I can see that from the blatant tree abuse.”
Ianto gave a choked laugh and stopped kicking, as he turned and slumped against the tree, his right side pressed against its moss-covered bark. “It’s not fair, Jack. Why did we have to lose all that time?”
“I don’t know,” he said, walking over and pulling him into his arms. “All I know is that you’re mine now and we have a long time to make up for what we lost. And there’s nothing on the face of this earth, or in Heaven or in Hell that can ever change that.”
Ianto put his arms around Jack’s neck, and that easily, he could feel his anger melting. “I can’t stay mad when you’re holding me,” he told him. “I love you too much.”
“I’ll never get tired of hearing that. And I’m so damn sorry it took me so long to come back to you.” He kissed him between the fervent words, each touch of his lips a promise of what was to come. Of the love he had to give to him that would always be his. “I’m sorry I missed all those years with you.”
“Being without you for so long, it sucked big-time, Jack. But you know what?”
“What?” he asked, staring deep into his eyes.
Ianto smiled and leaned in, his lips soft against his ear. “You were worth the wait.”
The husky words shot through him like a jolt of lightning, and he grinned as he held him tighter, crushing him against his chest. “I’m glad you think so.”
“Oh, I know so,” Ianto whispered, letting his head fall back as he pressed his mouth against the base of his throat. “I doubt you noticed, but we’re not far from where you parked your SUV the night you found me with Marcus.”
He lifted his head and looked around. “You’re right.”
“I have a secret,” Ianto murmured.
He arched one eyebrow as he brought his gaze back to his. “Really?”
Ianto took a deep breath, then said, “I only went out with that guy all those years ago because I had this crazy dream of making you jealous.”
Shock skittered through his system. “You sneaky little brat.”
Rolling his eyes, he said, “Well, yeah.” Then he started to smile. “You can’t believe how surprised I was when the dream actually came true.”
“I should put you over my knee for doing something so foolish,” he rumbled, curving one hand over his arse.
“Actually,” Ianto drawled, giving him a sultry look through his long lashes, “I was thinking you should just finish what you started that night.” Damn, but he loved the way he thought.
“We don’t have the SUV right here, but I can improvise.” Jack lifted him off the ground and pressed him against the moss-covered trunk of the tree.
“Mmm,” Ianto moaned. “I’ve always wanted to have sex in a forest.”
“But only with me,” he growled, sounding like a possessive beast. But there was no help for it. When it came to Ianto, he was a possessive beast, ready to pound his chest and fight to the death against anyone who tried to take Ianto away from him.
His soft laugh was proof Ianto was on to him. “That’s a given.”
He brushed his lips against the side of his throat, so much blood rushing south to his groin he felt light-headed. “You gonna let me bite you again?” he groaned, his fangs slipping from his gums in a scalding rush of heat, his pulse roaring in his ears.
“You want to?” The hushed words trembled with excitement, his hard cock pressing against Jack’s, begging to be touched, released.
“The taste of you is still hot in my mouth.” His voice was thick, rough with need, the raw, predatory edge impossible to disguise. “I can’t get it out of my head.”
“Then go for it. You know how much I love it,” he whispered, pulling him tighter to him as he cupped his arse through his jeans, a searing wave of heat travelling up his spine as he rubbed harder against him.
“Tell me you love me again.” Jack gasped against his soft lips, his chest aching from the violent force of his breaths.
“I love you, Jack.”
“I love you, too,” he growled. “So much it makes me crazy.” He tugged at Ianto’s jeans pulling them down, cursing as he struggled to get his boots off. Then he wrapped his hand around Ianto’s leaking cock and pulled a couple of times as he used his other hand to remove a small packet from his jeans pocket.
“You’ve always been crazy,” Ianto teased, reaching between them and attacking the buttons on his fly. “...and prepared, it seems,” nodding at the packet. He ripped the jeans open, taking a firm grip on his granite-hard cock as he added, “That’s why we’re so perfect for each other.”
“Lift a leg around me, baby,” Jack said as he tore the packet open with his teeth, squeezed the gel out and dropped the empty packet sliding his fingers back to Ianto’s hole, making sure he was ready for him. He stroked inside him, loving the sounds coming from Ianto as he stroked him deep, stretching him to take his hard, leaking cock.
Ianto held him tight with his leg and one arm while the other grabbed Jack behind the head and crushed his mouth to his lips in a fierce and long kiss. “I can’t get enough of you, Jack,” he said as he pulled his mouth away. “You are so addictive.”
Jack’s chest shook with a deep laugh as he removed his fingers and then almost instantly he pushed the blunt head of his cock into Ianto’s warm, tight heat, the pleasure somehow more intense each time he took him, blowing his mind. He didn’t know if it was like this for everyone who was in love, but he considered himself one lucky son of a bitch to have found this kind of happiness.
Ianto wrapped his other leg around him and tilted his head back, eyes drifting closed as a satisfied smiled played softly over his beautiful mouth. “I know we don’t need to hear the words or stand up in front of anyone, but I can’t wait for you to be my husband, Jack. For you to belong to me, body and soul.”
“I always have,” he whispered, his deep voice rough with emotion. “You just didn’t know it.”
“I know it now.” Ianto gasped, Jack’s body pressing against him as he lost the battle with his self control and shoved inside him with a thick, powerful thrust, going all the way to the hilt.
As Ianto tightened around his cock, it felt as if he was surrounding him, making him shudder with ecstasy and Jack lowered his head, scraping his fangs against the tender column of his throat and before sinking his teeth into the tender flesh, he vowed, “I’ll never let you forget it.”

on 2012-06-19 12:57 am (UTC)I think I like the real prophecy much better than the made up one, and when it comes down to it, those twelve lost years have just become a very short period of time in the grand scheme of things. I think they can more than make up for lost time.
Also, I'm not sure what the epilogue will cover, but if it's not the wedding and honeymoon, you know you're going to have to consider doing at least a small follow up piece, right? Just cuz you love us so much.
